Massages & touch therapy by Ariel Eshel
Massage is a type of therapy and preventive medicine, that beside being a natural way to stay healthy, including by reducing stress, it might be an efficient tool which might contribute to ease health issues, such as back and neck pain, muscle soreness, headaches, some tendon inflammation, improve range of motion and more.
It is one of best ways to relief stress and tension.
A lot of scientific evidence that supports the benefits of touch and massage therapy has been accumulated during the last years. In spite of that, it should be explicitly emphasized that a massage is not a substitution to having a consultation with a medical doctor.
The massages that I give are divided to whole body massages, and to massages focused on specific organs.
Technics of massages
My approach is a holistic one, and it means that beside the touch treatment per se, we are giving a specific lifestyle guidance, in order to reduce probability of problem recurring, or in order to reduce symptoms.
I mostly combine several methods and techniques including Swedish massage, Hot stones, Warm oils, Deep tissue massage, Structural massage, Trigger-point, Thai massage. The applied techniques depend on client needs.
I use a blend of unique aromatic extracts oils in order to enhance the experience and the effectiveness of the treatment. Sometimes the oils are being warmed and sometimes they are used at room temperature. Facial and neck massage is done just with suitable creams at the recommended acidic pH level.
Mostly the treatment is given while the client lies down, unclothed and covered from neck down by a sheet. As needed various parts of body are exposed for the treatment. Sometimes, the treatment is given while the client is being seated, partially clothed.
Duration of massages
A holistic whole-body massage might last from 45 minutes up to 90 minutes, and that is beside the consultation time when relevant and the basic health investigation.
Treatments that are focused on very well-defined body organs might mostly take 30 minutes and maximum 45 minutes. There is an option to combine a focused treatment with a whole-body massage, and sometimes it is actually the recommended solution.
I do my best to leave the client fully satisfied. In spite of that you should keep in mind that I am not a magician, so not in every situation I am able to help, or even to consult. Sometimes we will recommend to address a certified medical professional.

A little about me
I am a certified massage therapist, studied at Reidman International College for complementary and integrative Medicine, which is in affiliation with IPSB.
In addition, I hold a Master degree from the Hebrew University, focused on issues of preventive medicine. For a lot of years, I am practicing massage and touch therapy, and write articles about various aspects of preventive medicine for leading health organizations.
Where and when does the massage take place
The massage is taking place in the treatment room at my residence, locates in the northern center of Tel-Aviv.
Dates and hours of massage treatments
In principle, a massage treatment can be set to almost any date and time, depends on my availability. Mostly I am available from 12:00.
Cancelation and changing dates policy
Unless force major cases, a cancelation or any date change, will be done by a cellular written notice, minimum 24 hours prior to the scheduled massage. A change or cancelation done within 24 hours prior to the scheduled massage will be accompanied by half price charge.
The treatment procedure
I give a great importance to the beforehand part. Beforehand the client’s health issues and the purpose of the treatment will be reviewed, and the nature of the treatment will be fully clarified and agreed about.
Prior to the massage client is asked to remove garments. However, if she or he feels more comfortable to stay with underwear it’s still fine. Prior to treatment any jewelry should be removed. If the treatment includes facial care and there are contact lenses, the client will be asked to remove them prior to the treatment.
Mostly a full body massage, targeted a lot of times to enhance energetic levels and to relief stress, will be given while the client lies down, unclothed and covered from neck down by a sheet. As needed, various parts of body are exposed for the treatment.
Sometimes, the treatment is given while the client is being seated, or lie down, partially or fully clothed.
If at any time of the treatment, for any reason, you feel uncomfortable, or you feel pain or discomfort, you should tell me immediately.
At the end of the treatment it is worth to spare several minutes for relaxation.
Situations not enabling to give massage treatment
There are several situations that do not permit conducting a massage therapy, in general, or just in the proposed frame of service. Among them:
- Fever
- Any infectious disease
- Cardio vascular disease or problems, including clotting issues
- High blood pressure, including while medicine balanced
- Local or systemic edema
- Diabetes
- Kidney disease or problems
- Cancer (except the case of explicit recommendation signed by an oncologist)
- Spine discs problems including Herniated Disc
- Any active skin disease (prohibit massaging the infected area)
- Varicose (prohibit massaging the infected area)
- Injury or swelling caused by local inflammation (prohibit massaging the infected area)
- Pregnant women (in principle during a certain period of the pregnancy massage therapy is not forbidden, however it is not offered in the current proposed frame)
- Anybody under 18 years old (Need to be equipped with approval of parents or custodian)
It should be explicitly emphasized that a massage is not a substitution to having a consultation with a certified medical doctor. If recently you had a surgery or you have a serious injury, such as a muscle or ligament tear, first check with your doctor.
